Our AW23 rattan line offers a modernized take on classic weaving techniques, materials, and textures. This collection features innovative designs with striking curves and intricate detailing. We construct our pieces with careful attention to detail by talented artisans who 'Desa' weave each item by hand. Desa translates to 'village' in Bahasa Indonesia. The Desa Dining Chair has a charmingly formed arch back and a comfortable seat cushion with a 'desa' weave.
**Please note, we now only sell our original timber colour 'Light Natural'. All custom 'made-to-order' products have a 10-12 week production lead time.
Our Desa Chair range is a celebration of craftsmanship, individuality, and the beauty of natural materials. Each chair is hand made and slow made using traditional techniques and simple tools, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces that may vary slightly in colour, weave, stain, and padding. While we strive for consistency, the nature of rattan means no two chairs will ever be exactly the same — some may feature the lightest shades from ‘young’ rattan, while others carry the deepest tones from ‘aged’ rattan. We see these differences not as imperfections, but as marks of authenticity that set our pieces apart from mass-produced furniture. When fulfilling your order, we do our best to match chairs within a set for a cohesive look. Please note, the colour will continue to evolve over time, deepening naturally with exposure to light and air. Our timber furniture styles are made using a range of materials, but mostly Sungkai and Teak wood.
Sungkai is a tropical timber commonly used in Indonesia. It has a beautiful 'blonde' colour and is used in most of our Collections.
Both Sungkai and Teak are used for its strength and long lasting durability. Both timbers are able to be used indoors and outdoors however like most natural materials they will naturally discolour over time.

To ensure longevity on your pieces, we suggest using a specific teak sealer for indoor and outdoor use.
You can a sealer on any furniture or decor item and it will not affect the colour or stain of your item. Please check with a timber professional to clarify which sealer would work best.
Our pieces leave our factory with a natural oil to finish the timber treatment, please be careful with fabrics, carpets and floors as this may stain.
